My name is Amita.

I am a REAL witch. By REAL, that means I am not a psychic who casts spells (what is that? – a load of bunk, that’s what!) but rather a person who lives their life as a witch and has been doing so for over 20 years. I am not just a “witch on the web”; I am a witch in my daily life, practicing my craft as the art it is.

My witch name Amita comes from the Buddhist name Amitabha.

My credentials include the following: I am a Third Degree High Priestess in the Gardnerian Tradition; though I no longer practice Wicca in the religious aspect. I am an Eclectic witch and practice MANY different mysteries including Voodoo, Hoodoo, Santeria (Cuban), Romany, Faery, Tibetan, Sino (Chinese), Druidry, Celtic, Norse, Stregheria (Italian), Egyptian, Folk Magick (Pow-Wow) and many others. I am always a student learning new mysteries. I am Buddhist. This has been my religion for 12 years since I took my Buddhist vows. I follow the Buddhist precepts. As a Buddhist, I must remain honest in my business dealings as part of the Eightfold Path. It is called Right Livelihood and is very important to my Buddhist beliefs. I continue to study Buddhism as well as practice daily meditation and puja (prayers, offerings and chants.).

My school of Tibetan Buddhism is called NKT (New Kadampa Tradition) but I also practice Buddhism from different schools including the Dzogchen Tradition, Vipassana, Shambhala and Zen Buddhism. My guru is Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, a Tibetan monk who has written many books and is, I believe, an enlightened master. Some of his books include The New Meditation Handbook and The Joyful Path of Good Fortune . I am a Doctor of Metaphysics and ordained Reverend. I also have a traditional college degree in English and Theatre.

I work full-time as a witch and also a freelance journalist. You have most likely read my articles in tech magazines, computer and video gaming magazines and lifestyle magazines (obviously under my real name since Amita is my witch name).

I live in Central Florida (Ocala) in a quiet suburban neighborhood in a house I share with my Mom. My father is a college instructor and lives with his wife in Connecticut. My brother and his wife live within five minutes of my house. I was widowed three years ago and currently date (more on that elsewhere on the blog). We are a very close family. Yes, they know I am a witch. I was raised religiously open by my parents.

I have clients all over the world; some of whom have been my clients since the very beginning. I have been doing this online now since 2003. I answer all my own email and conduct every spell, ritual and reading personally. I handle every single aspect of the spellwork; from the initial consultation and point of contact, through correspondence, the spell casting, follow-up (if needed), shipping results and the upkeep and maintenance of my websites. This is a one-witch show!
